INTUITY, DURABILITY, RESPECT, LOVE AND A LOT OF WORK: THE KEYS TO OUR BIRTH AND THE SECRET OF OUR SUCCESS
The Ittica Capri company is the result of continuous progress made over decades of working history, a story marked by enthusiasm and tradition cultivated by the Stinga family.
Starting from the post-war years, Enrico Stinga, a fisherman from Capri and a man of great experience, whose passion and dedication accompanied him for a lifetime, devoted himself to fishing in the sea of the island of Capri. Enrico filled whole baskets of fish that his wife Liberata, from the port of Marina Grande, went up to the village to sell. This work, partly for pleasure, partly for necessity, was then passed on to his children, some of whom took up the inheritance.
Subsequently one of the sons, Antonio Stinga, in 1978 opened what at the time was the first fish market in Anacapri, “Il Pesce d’Oro”. The business was a great success allowing Antonio to take a step forward by opening two new fish shops. An ever greater progress thanks also to the addition of Tonino Gargiulo, who enriched the company with his administrative skills for many years.
Over time, the company has undergone several and countless changes that have made it change its corporate structure and expand its business. From father to son fish Capri has always remained in the hands of the Stinga family, with the entry of his son Enrico Stinga over time the company has undergone several and countless changes that have made it change the corporate structure and expand the business even outside the island context. Today the new structure of over 500 square meters is exclusively aimed at wholesaling with a development in the national and international market but without forgetting the inheritance of the original values.
